Marilyn Monroe: The Defining Roles

A special focus is placed on “Some Like It Hot,” filmed at Hotel del Coronado in 1958, featuring rare behind-the-scenes footage and stories from the set.

4th of July on Coronado Island

July 4, 2026

Coronado Island’s July 4th celebration is a full-day affair filled with festive activities for all ages. The day begins with the Crown City Classic 12K and 5K run at Tidelands Park, followed by the beloved Independence Day Parade down Orange Avenue at 10 AM. Afternoon events include medieval reenactments and Star Wars photo ops at Star Park, a thrilling aerial demonstration by the Navy Leap Frogs, and live music throughout the day at Spreckels Park. The festivities conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over Glorietta Bay at 9 PM, lighting up the island in patriotic celebration.

Food Truck Thursdays

July 9 - September 3, 2026

Elevate your summer nights at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort's Food Truck Thursdays, happening weekly from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Coronado’s Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting
