Coronado Island Film Festival

Our four-day pedestrian-friendly festival offers a slate of more than 80 films cultivated from a diverse selection of genres, plus compelling panels, lively workshops and of course, parties!

Coronado’s perfect weather and close proximity to Los Angeles made it a favorite go-to spot for Hollywood pioneers such as Mary Pickford and Charlie Chaplin, followed by the likes of John Wayne, Billy Wilder and Marilyn Monroe. Most recently, Tom Cruise filmed scenes for Top Gun: Maverick” in Coronado.

Holiday Parade of Lights

A time-honored holiday tradition brought to Coronado by the boating community. Over 80 lavishly decorated boats that dazzle and entertain crowds along the Coronado Ferry Landing and Tidelands Park.

The event is free and is held over two evenings, usually on Sundays. 

Bike the Bay

  • Only opportunity every year to bike the famous Coronado Bridge
  • Non-competitive and fun for all ages and skill levels – travels around the San Diego Bay via the Bayshore Bikeway.
  • Start/​finish line at Embarcadero Marina Park in downtown San Diego.
  • All riders will return to San Diego for a post-ride festival with food trucks, 21+ beer garden and entertainment.

Silver Strand Half Marathon

  • 10 Miler, & Veterans Day 5K
  • Live entertainment along the course
  • Flat, fast run or walk with the waves of the Pacific Ocean on your east and the San Diego Bay on your west 
  • Cap off your run with a California beach party! 
  • Reward yourself with a recovery day at the luxurious Loews’ spa
